Devil's Tramping Ground Poster

This poster was created for a class project where we were tasked with creating a poster based on a cryptid. I based mine around the Devil's Tramping Grounds, a site in North Carolina where the devil is rumored to walk around at night by the fire, plotting his evil deeds. The illustration of the flaming demon was created in Clip Studio Paint, and the final poster was created in Adobe Photoshop.
In these process images, you can see that I approached the idea from three separate angles. First, I drafted some sketches based on Mothman, a cryptid from West Virginia. You can see the sketch on the top right depicts Mothman caught in headlights, as he was first seen according to the first reports of his existence. Then, I looked to SCP-999, a slime monster from a popular internet mythos known as SCP. The idea for this sketch was to depict a warning poster about SCP-999, complete with health and safety warnings about its presence, with SCP-999 sliding down the poster. Then, I moved on to the final myth, Devil's Tramping Grounds. While this location doesn't have a particular cryptid associated with it, I envisioned what a cryptid based on the myths of the location would look like. The thumbnail sketch on the bottom right would later be what the final product was based on.
